Chandigarh, April 11:- In a significant step towards strengthening urban infrastructure and improving public hygiene, Sh. Manish Tewari, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Chandigarh today inaugurated an MPLAD-funded development work in Manimajra, Ward No. 5, Chandigarh in the presence of area Councillor Smt. Darshna and prominent persons of area.
The project, executed under the MPLADS scheme by the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh involved the laying of an additional 300 mm NP-3 sewer line along with the construction of manholes near the cemetery and bus stand area.
This crucial infrastructure upgrade was undertaken to address persistent sewer blockages and unhygienic conditions affecting nearby areas, including the local bus stand, adjoining market, and Government High School. With the successful completion of the project, residents can now expect smoother sewer flow, reduced overflow incidents, and significantly improved sanitation standards.
Speaking on the occasion, the Member Parliament emphasized the importance of robust civic infrastructure in ensuring a healthy urban environment and reiterated his commitment to supporting development initiatives that directly benefit the public.
Area councillor Smt. Darshna highlighted that the project marks a major improvement in the area’s sanitation network and will contribute to a cleaner and healthier living environment for residents.
The inauguration reflects the continued efforts of the Municipal Corporation and to enhance civic amenities and address long-standing public concerns effectively.
