Chandigarh, May 15:- The enforcement teams of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh conducted a special anti-encroachment drive in the mobile markets of Sectors 19 and 22 during the late evening hours today to curb illegal vending and ensure smooth public movement.

The drive was led by Dr. Himanshu Gupta, MC Joint Commissioner, along with enforcement inspectors and field staff of the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh. The operation was carried out in the busy mobile market areas opposite Kisan Bhawan, where illegal vendors occupying public spaces were checked.

During the drive, the enforcement teams issued 40 challans to violators found carrying out unauthorized vending activities and creating encroachments on roadsides and public corridors.

Dr. Himanshu Gupta stated that the Municipal Corporation is committed to maintaining order, cleanliness, and unobstructed public spaces in the city. He further warned that such enforcement drives will continue regularly to discourage illegal encroachments and ensure compliance with civic regulations.
