Chandigarh,10.01.19-Major General NS Rajpurohit an ex NCC Cadet of Rajasthan NCC addressed the Airwing NCC Cadets during the closing ceremony of the Combined Annual Training Camp of Chandigarh Air wing NCC at the Air Force Station Chandigarh. In his remarks the General Officer said that the Camp would have provided the Cadets with everlasting memories of intense competitions in various disciplines like Visit to Aircraft and Equipment of Air Force, Aero-modeling, Personality Development training etc. He exhorted the Cadets to excel in every avenue of life, develop patriotic fervor and have confidence in themselves. He said that NCC gives the youth of the country an exposure to life full of adventure, discipline and honour and the camps inculcate in them the sense of leadership and camaraderie. In the end, the General Officer also presented medals and trophies to the cadets and Institutions which stood first in various disciplines. PGGC, Sector-11and GNPS, Sector-36 were adjudged as the best Institutions. Cadet RohitKajalof PGGC-11 and CadetMuskan of GNPS-36were declared all-round best cadets of the camp. A total of 123 Cadets, both boys and girls drawn from 05Institutions covering the Union Territory of Chandigarh participated in the camp that lasted for 10 days from 01 Jan to 10 Jan 2019.The aim of the Annual Training Camp is to give an exposure to salient aspects of Air Force Training, generate competitive spirit and foster sense of discipline, leadership and National Integration amongst participating cadets.

Chandigarh Air wing NCC has been providing ample opportunities including Flying to Air wing cadets to explore and display their talents in the National forum. It has been a stepping stone for cadets, particularly those hailing from remote and poor backgrounds, to achieve their heights, said Air Commodore S Srinivasan AVSM VSM, Air Officer Commanding, Air Force Station Chandigarh.

Air wing of NCC Chandigarh has contributed significantly in grooming up the cadets and enabling their induction in various uniform services and other service sectors across the country, said Group Captain HS Sandhu, Station Commander, 3 BRD Air Force.

Major General NS Rajpurohit, VSMinspired the cadets and staff alike through an insightful speech reflecting on his experiences and motivating factors, which spurred him on to choose a career in the armed forces. He being a former NCC cadet, asked the students to be very active in NCC activities. He urged the students to inculcate some of the qualities like, leadership, discipline, character, compassion, community service etc. He advised the students to pursue a career in the armed forces and asked them to serve their motherland. Wing Commander S Srinivas, TrainingOfficer NCC Airwing Chandigarh gave an inspiring message to the cadets. He said that 1 Chandigarh Air Sqn NCC is 58 years old and advised the cadets to continue the legacy of Chandigarh Air wing NCC by being great citizens.

The vote of thanks was proposed by Group captain M R Pandeya, Commanding officer and also an ex Air wing cadet of NCC Airwing. He also spoke about the importance of discipline and urged the cadets to serve the nation in different capacities.The programmed concluded with the NCC song.
