Cheating (Cyber)
A Case FIR No. 12 u/s 308(2), 319(2), 318(4), 338, 336(3), 340(2), 61(2) BNS has been registered at Cyber Police Station on the complaint of a lady R/o Sector 18C, Chandigarh, against an unknown person. The complainant stated that an unidentified individual posing as a police officer called her on WhatsApp, made her believe she was under digital arrest, and cheated her out of ₹57,16,000. The victim received a call on November 6, 2024, from a man claiming to be a DHL employee, alleging that a suspicious parcel in her name had been sent to Beijing. She was then connected to individuals posing as Mumbai Police and CBI officers, who accused her of involvement in money laundering. Under pressure, she transferred money by liquidating investments, taking loans, and selling gold. The fraudsters monitored her through WhatsApp and Skype, warning her not to disclose the matter. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Arms Act
A Case FIR No. 23 u/s 125 BNS, 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Industrial Area on the complaint of Charanjit Singh R/o Sector-70, SAS Nagar, Mohali, Punjab (Age: 41 years), against Sahil. The complainant stated that he visited the Nexa showroom for a test ride and handed over his car (PB30X4753) to a valet driver, Sahil, for parking. When he returned, he found that Sahil had fired a gunshot using his licensed .32 bore pistol. Investigation of the case is in progress.
Quarrel
A Case FIR No. 28 u/s 118(1), 126(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station Maloya on the complaint of Varun R/o DMC, Chandigarh (Age: 23 years), against Abhishek R/o DMC, Chandigarh (Age: 23 years), who attacked the complainant’s friend, Parmod, with a sharp object, causing serious injuries. Parmod is currently undergoing treatment at PGIMER, Chandigarh. The accused has been arrested. Investigation of the case is in progress.
