CHANDIGARH, 19.04.25-The campus of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, reverberated with the melody of soulful music as Pt. Ajay Shankar Prasanna- one of the leading International flautists of India gave a stirring performance. The performance was a part of Hindustani Classical Music Flute Recital programme organised by the college Music Department, in collaboration with Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture Amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY), under the aegis of SRF Classical Series. Lamp lighting and Saraswati vandana lent an auspicious start to the programme. Accompanied by celebrated tabla exponent Mr. Sabir Hussain, the 3 times Grammy Award nominated flautist’s mystical flute recital held the audience spellbound. As the performance drew to an end, the thunderous applause befittingly conveyed the elevated experience that the performance provided.
Officiating Principal Mrs. Neena Sharma lauded the Music Department for educating the younger generation to carry forward India’s rich musical heritage through such unique initiatives that bring together celebrated artists and the aspiring artists.
