CHANDIGARH, 26.09.24-The Nivedita trust in collaboration with Punjab University organised a program to commemorate the 300th birth anniversary of Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar, A great social reformer.
On this occasion Dr Jaspinder Narula, renowned Bollywood singer was chief guest and Shri Pradeep Joshi eminent thinker and social transformer was the key note speaker. The program was presided by vice chancellor of the Punjab University Dr. Renu Vig.A Documentary on life and construction of Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar was screened.
On this occasion eminent women achiever were honoured with Maharani Ahilya Bai Holkar award'24. Dr Sunaini Sharma eminent Punjabi folk singer, Dr Anita Kaushal & Dr Sapna Nanda Eminent Academicians, Mrs Usha Sharma Rtd bureaucrate and poetess, Dr Vinay Kapoor Mehra ex VC, Ms Guneet Swani, Dr. Latika Sharma, Dr Nandita Singh are among the receipient of the prestigious Maharani Ahilya Bai Holkar award. This program was attended by eminent women professional from Tricity. Speaking on the occasion Shri Pradeep ji Joshi shared the various motivating stories of life of Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar. He also elaboratively enlightened the audience about the personality and philosophy of Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar. He specially mention the status of the women in the Indian culture since ancient times. Praising the achievements of the recipient of the awards Shri Pradeep ji Joshi invited the professional women to come forward for Greater social role. Appraising the audience about the towering personality of Ahilyabai key note speaker laid stress upon preservation of the Indian cultural values in the current times.
Chief guest renowned Bollywood & Classical singer. Dr.Jaspinder Narula praising the personality and contribution of Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar, also congratulated the recipients of the award. Dr Renu Vig in her presidential remarks assured her support to realize the dream of Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar, particularly for value based education and women empowerment.
After the program Dr. Jaspinder Narula, Dr. Renu Vig Vice Chancellor and Dr. Sapna Nanda while speaking to the media persons, announced a program to impart the training to budding singers & music teachers of the region to promote the classical music particularly Gurmat Sangeet. Dr. Jaspinder Narula will mentor the budding singers to inculcate the intricacies of classical music in them. Remembering the role of her late father Sr Kesar Singh Narula in the recording & preaching of Guru Bani, Dr Vig expressed her gratitude to Dr. Jaspinder Narula for her vision and contribution. Dr. Jspinder Narula assured her support in the noble cause of promotion of Gurubani singing in the Ragas. She said after scaling the heights of the professional career now I want to pay back to the society. She said I always pray to Waheguru to bless the land and people of Punjab with his grace. She expressed her desire to devot time and efforts for the Rejuvenation of the traditional Gurubani singing among the young singers.
