MAHENDERGARH, 04.12.24-The Department of Sociology, Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh organized an interactive session on "Leadership in the 21st Century" in collaboration with the Piramal Foundation on Wednesday. The event, conducted by the Gandhi Fellowship team, brought together final-year students, faculty members, and research scholars for a discussion on the significance of leadership and skill-based education in the modern era. The session was graced by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, who delivered the inaugural address. In his speech, he emphasized the growing importance of leadership skills in addressing contemporary challenges and the value of skill-based education in empowering students to succeed in the professional world.
The keynote speakers for the event were Ms. Avneet Kaur and Ms. Rituparna Konar, Program Leader - Marketing & Recruitment, Gandhi Fellowship Program. Dr. Yudhvir, Teacher-in-Charge (TIC) and Departmental Coordinator of the Training and Placement Cell served as the convenor of the program.
The interactive session provided insights into the Gandhi Fellowship Program, a 23-month initiative by the Piramal Foundation aimed at nurturing leadership among India’s youth. The program offers participants a monthly grant of ₹24,500, along with support for board, lodging, and communication costs, encouraging them to focus on building impactful solutions and fostering development cultures.
Dr. Yudhvir welcomed the Vice-Chancellor and the guests, extending warm gratitude and felicitating them for their contributions. Research scholar from the Department of Sociology Chandramohan introduced the guests to the audience. MA students Aditi Raj and Soumya Tiruvaipati efficiently managed the stage operations of the session. Dr. Reema Gill, the faculty member, delivered the vote of thanks at the conclusion of the session.
