Chandigarh, January 30, 2025: Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya today paid homage to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, on his death anniversary, observing Martyrs’ Day with deep reverence at the Raj Bhavan.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Shri Dattatraya remembered Gandhi ji’s immense contribution to India’s independence and his timeless teachings of truth, non-violence, and selfless service.
“Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals continue to inspire generations across the world. His vision of peace, harmony, and social justice is more relevant today than ever. As we observe this solemn occasion, let us pledge to uphold his principles and work towards a just and inclusive society,” he said.
Shri Dattatraya also highlighted Gandhi ji’s role in uniting the nation through his philosophy of nonviolent resistance and self-reliance. He urged the people of Haryana, especially the youth, to imbibe the values of simplicity, honesty, and patriotism in their daily lives.
The Governor also emphasized the importance of preserving Gandhi's legacy through actions that promote peace, unity, and sustainable development. On this occasion, officials, dignitaries, and citizens joined in paying floral tributes to Mahatma Gandhi, reaffirming their commitment to his ideals.
