Chandigarh, March 9- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini met Padma Shri awardee and renowned author, Dr. Sant Ram Deswal and Paralympic gold medalist, Sh. Harvinder Singh at his residence, Sant Kabir Kutir, on Sunday. Both awardees were accompanied by their families as well.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister honoured, Dr. Sant Ram Deswal and Sh. Harvinder Singh by presenting them with a shawl and a memento. He congratulated them on receiving the prestigious Padma Shri award and extended his best wishes to them. The Chief Minister’s wife, Smt. Suman Saini who was also present on this occasion congratulated them for receiving Padma Shri award.
Notably, Dr. Sant Ram Deswal is a well-known scholar of Haryanvi folk literature as well as Hindi literature. He is recognized as a guardian of Haryana’s folk language, culture, and literature. Dr. Deswal ‘s life has been dedicated to promoting Haryanvi folk culture, literature, Hindi literature, education, journalism, editing, research, guidance, and social service.
Sh. Harvinder Singh is a para-archer and the first Indian para-archer to win historic medals for India in both the Paralympics and the Asian Para Games. In recognition of his outstanding achievements in para-archery, he received the prestigious ‘Arjuna Award’ in 2021. The Haryana government also honoured him with the ‘Bhim Award’ in 2022.

CM meets the family members of Former Minister Satpal Sangwan
Chandigarh, March 9- Haryana Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh Saini visited the residence of Former Minister, Late. Satpal Sangwan in Dadri on Sunday to pay his last respects. He expressed his condolences to the late leader’s wife, his son MLA, Sh.Sunil Sangwan, and other family members.
In his condolence message, the Chief Minister said that the sudden demise of Late. Satpal Sangwan is a great loss to his family, friends, and society. He prayed to the almighty to grant peace to the departed soul and give strength to the family to bear this loss.
He further said that Late. Satpal Sangwan lived a simple and social life, always fostering harmony in society. His passing is a great loss, and his contributions will be deeply missed.

CM stops convoy on way to Hisar, interacts with villagers
Impressed by simplicity and friendly nature of CM Nayab Singh Saini, say villagers
Chandigarh, March 9 – Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini, while going to Hisar district on Sunday, stopped his convoy at Bhaini Maharajpur village, met the villagers and enquired about their well-being. During this, the Chief Minister congratulated the villagers on Holi.
The Chief Minister interacted with farmers on the occasion. He said the Haryana Government is a farmer-friendly government, which is continuously taking decisions for the welfare of farmers. In the interest of the farmers, the government has decided to buy all the crops at MSP and Haryana is the first state in the country to do so.
Sh. Nayab Singh Saini also received information about crop damage from the farmers. He said the state government has given instructions for a special girdawari of crops affected due to unseasonal rains and hailstorms in different districts of the state recently. Along with this, Kshatipurti portal has also been opened, on which farmers can register the information of their damaged crops.
The happiness of the villagers knew no bounds on finding the Chief Minister among them suddenly. The Chief Minister not only stood among the villagers but also heard their problems. The villagers said the Chief Minister meeting them in this way reflects his sociable nature and friendly personality.

He said that Lord Shiva is the ultimate guide to salvation, while Lord Krishna is the symbol of a 'Karmayogi'. He quoted Lord Krishna’s saying, ‘Perform your duties without expecting rewards’ He also mentioned that Lord Shiva encourages continuous effort in life and which will lead us towards salvation. Attaining salvation is the greatest achievement, participating in such spiritual programmes brings peace to the mind and soul, guiding people toward righteousness, he added.
Sh. Bedi further said that developmental work is being carried out under Prime Minister, Sh. Narendra Modi and Chief Minister, Sh. Nayab Singh’s leadership. He stated that the Haryana government is ensuring that its welfare schemes reach the last person standing in the queue. The government is committed to providing healthcare, electricity, education, transportation, community centers, and other basic facilities to the people of the state.

All political parties must nominate Booth-Level Agents: CEO Pankaj Agarwal
Chandigarh, March 9 - Haryana Chief Election Officer (CEO) Sh. Pankaj Agarwal has said that as per the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India, it is mandatory for all political parties to appoint Booth-Level Agents (BLA) of their respective parties. From now on, the records of BLA will have to be maintained by the office of the Chief Election Officer in states and union territories.
Giving information in this regard today, Sh. Pankaj Agarwal said recently, a two-day workshop of Chief Election Officers of all the states was organized at the India International Democracy and Election Management Council in Delhi, in which the Election Commission of India has given instructions to appoint BLAs. He said the number of registered voters in the state is 2,6,32,503 and 20,031 BLO posts have been nominated.
He said Haryana has 6 national-level and two state-level recognized political parties. All parties have to appoint Booth Level Agent 1 and 2. For political parties, Booth Level Agent is an authorized person who takes voting related material from Election Commission for his party.
He said the Booth Level Agent provides necessary information about voters to BLO in preparing error-free voting list. He said in 2008, the Election Commission had recommended to appoint Booth Level Agents but most of the political parties are not serious about it.
Sh. Agarwal informed that Election Commission of India has decided that in the next three months, Chief Electoral Officers of the states should prepare a Unique National Photo Voter ID Card.
