NEW DELHI -07.11.24-Joining the celebrations of Chhath Puja, CM Atishi heightened the joy of devotees by offering the Sandhya Arghya. She attended the Chhath Puja program in her constituency, Kalkaji Assembly, where she joined Purvanchali devotees to offer prayers to the Sun God and Chhathi Maiya.
Extending her greetings, CM Atishi said, “Today, Chhath is being celebrated with great enthusiasm across Delhi. The Delhi Government has built grand Chhath ghats in every part of the city.”
She added, “Under the guidance of Arvind Kejriwal Ji, the Delhi Government has been constructing beautiful Chhath ghats across Delhi over the past decade for our Purvanchali brothers and sisters, so they never feel distant from their villages. We aim to let them celebrate Chhath with the same joy and fervour in Delhi.”
She further noted, “Delhi is home to Purvanchalis, and because of them, Chhath has become a festival for all Delhiites. We celebrate it with great joy.”
CM Atishi expressed her prayers, saying, “I pray to Chhathi Maiya and Lord Bhaskar to bless all Delhiites with immense joy, prosperity, and good health.”
Thursday witnessed the grand celebration of Chhath Mahaparv throughout Delhi, with an atmosphere of enthusiasm surrounding the festivities. In the evening, devotees offered prayers to the setting sun, seeking happiness, prosperity, and well-being. This year, the Delhi Government has built over a thousand grand Chhath Ghats, ensuring all facilities for Purvanchalis in Delhi to celebrate Chhath Mahaparv with grandeur. The government has arranged all necessary provisions at these ghats to ensure a safe celebration of Chhath Puja.
AAP ministers and MLAs visited several Chhath ghats to review preparations and provided all possible assistance to the devotees.
Meanwhile, CM Atishi also attended several Chhath Puja programs in the Kalkaji Assembly area, extending her best wishes for the festival. She first visited the Chhath ghat at Balmukund Khand, Giri Nagar, where she joined devotees in offering prayers to Lord Surya.
Following this, CM Atishi went to the KTC Camp in Sriniwaspuri, where Purvanchalis were celebrating Chhath Mahaparva with great enthusiasm. Here too, she joined her Purvanchali brothers, sisters, and mothers in offering prayers to the Sun God and Chhathi Maiya.
