SHIMLA -2nd December, 2024-Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla said that India's strength lies in its unity and diversity. He said exposure to cultures, traditions and practices of different states would enhance understanding and bonding between the states. Thus, the unity and integrity of India would be further strengthened with the vision of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat”.

The Governor was interacting with the people from Nagaland and Assam residing in Himachal Pradesh on the occasion of Foundation Day celebration at Raj Bhavan, today. Lady Governor Janaki Shukla was also present on the occasion.

Sh. Shukla said that the Northeast states were known for their unique culture, customs and geographical features. He said that Assam was famous for its captivating religious and tourist sites which make the state a beloved destination for the travellers from all over India and the world.

"Assam was a beautiful hill state of North Eastern India, which was known for its natural beauty as well as tea gardens, sericulture and attractive traditional arts and crafts. This reflects the rich culture of Assam," stated the governor.

He said that the people of Nagaland were courageous and conscious about environmental protection. With their patriotic fervour, the people of the state have made a huge contribution to the cultural richness and diversity of India, he added.

The Governor also honoured them by presenting a Himachali cap and shawl.

Secretary to the Governor C.P. Verma, was also present on the occasion.
