Chandigarh, December 6, 2024: Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya on Friday remembered and paid heartfelt tribute to Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar on his death anniversary, describing him as the principal architect of the Indian Constitution and a towering social reformer whose vision continues to guide the nation.
In his message, Governor Shri Dattatraya said: “Dr BR Ambedkar's life and legacy stand as a testament to his unwavering commitment to justice, equality, and human dignity. He dedicated his life to championing the rights of the marginalized and envisioning a society where everyone could live with respect and equal opportunities.”
Shri Dattatraya emphasized that Dr Ambedkar’s profound contribution to drafting the Indian Constitution laid the foundation for a democratic, inclusive, and progressive India. “His ideas on social reform, education, and economic empowerment remain deeply relevant as we strive to build a society free of discrimination and inequality,” he said.
He said that Dr BR Ambedkar’s multifaceted contributions have cemented his legacy as a nation-builder, committed to fostering a just and equitable India. “This Mahaparinirvan Diwas, we are reminded of the pressing need to continue upholding and promoting his ideals of justice, equality, fraternity, and liberty to build a more just, harmonious and inclusive world,” he said.
On this solemn occasion, Governor Shri Dattatraya urged the people of Haryana to rededicate themselves to Dr Ambedkar's ideals by working towards unity, social harmony, and the upliftment of the underprivileged. “Let us honour his memory by fostering inclusivity, promoting education, and ensuring that the rights enshrined in our Constitution are upheld for all,” he added.
Governor Shri Dattatraya also highlighted the importance of educating future generations about Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy, stating that his thoughts and values must inspire the youth to contribute to the nation’s development with dedication and integrity. “Let us work together to create a society that truly reflects the principles and values championed by Dr Ambedkar ji,” he said.
