CHANDIGARH,15.12.24-The National Executive Committee (NEC) Meeting of National Medicos Organisation (NMO), a professional association, was organised at PGIMER, Chandigarh during 14th-15th December by NMO-Punjab. The meeting is being attended by the national leadership, presidents and secretaries of NMO from different states. Meeting is discussing the current situation in different states in the country, key national priorities and strategies for prevention and control of diseases. The meeting is being attended by 105 participants from all over the country.

The meeting was presided by Dr. C.B. Tripathi, (All India President, NMO), Dr. Ashwani Tandon (All India General Secretary, NMO), Dr. Punit Kumar Agarwal (All India Organizing Secretary, NMO), Dr AC Dhariwal (All India Treasurer), Dr Mukesh Nagar (All India Office Secretary)
Doctors and students from all over the country participated in the 2-day meeting to discuss the role of doctors in Swasthya sewa and achieving the key national health goals. Key sessions included advisory board discussions on strategic health issues, state-wise report presentations by president and secretaries, and planning for upcoming events like National conference (NMOCON-2025) and NEC May 2025.

The sessions focused on “Rashtra Sewa se Swasthya Sewa” to reach the last man in the neglected people of society. NMO also focuses on affordable health care with preservation of small medical setups which are aligned towards the same goal. We believe in corporative practice rather than corporate hospitals.

Cultural evening was organised at the end of the first day with the theme “Swasth aur nasha Mukht bharat” with special focus on problems of lifestyle diseases, environmental pollution and substance abuse in the state of Punjab (Bhatinda- the cancer capital of India). The culture of Punjab was also showcased by students of Punjab University and PGIMER, Chandigarh. A state-level poster competition was also organised for medical and dental colleges of Punjab on the theme “A healthy and drug free Punjab”.
