Three arrested for possessing illicit liquor

Chandigarh Police arrested Gulsher Khan R/o # 117/A Sunder Nagar Mauli Jagran Chandigarh who was arrested and recovered 50 quarters of country made liquor from his possession near Fire Station Phase-1 Ind./Area Chandigarh on 08-01-2025. A case FIR No. 04 U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Ind./Area, Chandigarh. Later, he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Ritesh Kumar R/o # 2587 Ground floor Sector 49/C Chandigarh who was arrested and recovered 35 quarters of country made liquor from his possession near Sector 49/C+D turn Chandigarh on 08-01-2025. A case FIR No. 02 U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-49 Chandigarh. Later, he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Chandigarh Police arrested Rakesh Kumar R/o # 322/C Sunder Nagar Mauli Jagran Chandigarh who was arrested and recovered 45 quarters of country made liquor and 20 half (375 ml each) from his possession near Govt. High School Sector 38/W Chandigarh on 08-01-2025. A case FIR No. 06 U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in PS-Maloya Chandigarh. Later, he was bailed out. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested in Arms Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Raj Kumar @ Nanna R/o # 5746, Maloya Colony Chandigarh (age-29 years) from Satsang Bhawan Maloya on 08.01.2025 and recovered on kamanidar knife from his possession. A Case FIR No 05 U/S 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered in Police Station Maloya Chandigarh. Investigation of this case is in progress.

Action against Gambling

Chandigarh Police apprehended Ajit R/o # 392 Pipli Wala Town Manimajra Chandigarh, Age 32 years & Kunal R/o # 1422, Indra Colony Manimajra Chandigarh, Age 26 Years while gambling at public place parking Shivalik Garden Manimajra Chandigarh and recovered cash Rs. 1940/- along with 52 playing card from their possession on 08.01.2025. A case FIR No. 02, U/S 13-3-67 Gambling Act has been registered in PS-Manimajra, Chandigarh. Later, they were released on bail. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

A Case FIR No 04 U/S 303(2) BNS has been registered in Police Station Sector 03 Chandigarh on the complaint of Varun Chugh Assistant Project Manager of smart City Limited office in Command Control Room Sector 17 Chandigarh against unknown person who stolen one ups and three batteries from surveillance location Sector 09/10 Surveillance location Chandigarh. Investigation of this case is in progress
