Chandigarh,20-02-2024-Sanjeevani Life Beyond Cancer, in collaboration with the Clinical Hematology & Medical Oncology Department and Chandigarh Breast Cancer Trust, organized a special picnic for cancer patients at Leisure Valley, Sector 10, Chandigarh.
The event commenced with Senior Program Coordinator Divya Joshi, who introduced the initiative and welcomed all participants. The picnic featured multiple therapeutic activities for cancer patients, including Laughter Therapy and Meditation conducted by Patanjali Yogpeeth and Dance Movement Therapy led by Yash Ghochack from Dance in Paradise. These sessions saw enthusiastic participation from both patients and doctors.
Renowned doctors from the Clinical Hematology & Medical Oncology Department—Dr. Pankaj Malhotra, Dr. Gaurav Parkash, Dr. Charanpreet, Dr. Lakshya, Dr. Naveen, and Dr. Harshit—were present at the event. They interacted with patients, delivered motivational talks, and actively took part in fun activities like Dumb Charades and Antakshari to uplift the spirits of attendees.
Dr. Pankaj Malhotra and Dr. Gaurav Parkash emphasized the importance of such events in reducing stress among cancer patients and providing them with opportunities to explore and nurture their talents.
Kamaljit Walia from Chandigarh Breast Cancer Trust arranged refreshments and lunch for all participants, along with memorable gift tokens for everyone present.
The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of over 95 cancer patients, along with members of Sanjeevani Life Beyond Cancer, Chandigarh Breast Cancer Trust, and senior doctors from the Clinical Hematology & Medical Oncology Department. The patients expressed their gratitude, sharing that the event helped them forget their pain and provided them with a much-needed boost of positivity and motivation.
They urged the organizers to conduct such programs more frequently, recognizing their significant role in enhancing the emotional well-being and mental resilience of cancer patients.
