CHANDIGARH,30.03.25-The 10 Annual Conference of the Chandigarh Punjab and Himachal Pradesh State Branch of the Indian Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (ISVIR) is being held at PGIMER, Chandigarh on 29-30 of March, 2025. The main focus of the conference is providing Hands-on-training to the residents, fellows and young practicing interventional radiologists who had gathered from the adjoining states of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Delhi. There are dedicated Workshops on Neurointervention, Biopsies and Drainages, Ablative Therapies and Venous Interventions. With over 150 registrations, the doctors will also present their work in form of lectures, oral papers and E-posters and also competed in quizzes. The highlight of the conference was the First Oration delivered by *Prof Sanjiv Sharma,* an eminent interventional physician of National and International repute, Former Head of Cardiovascular Radiology and Endovascular Interventions at AIIMS, new Delhi and current Pro-Chancellor of NIMS University, Jaipur. He spoke on the dreaded disease of Aortic Dissection and how Interventional Radiology can potentially change patient outcome of this potentially fatal disease.
*The event was inaugurated by Prof R K Ratho, Dean (Academics) PGIMER who was also the Chief Guest. Prof Paramjeet Singh - HOD, Radiodiagnosis, PGIMER, Chandigarh was the Guest of Honour. *Dr Naveen Kalra, the President of the State Branch and Organising Chairperson* informed that the radiology residents and the newly trained Interventionists need to learn the techniques of this field and remain motivated to sincerely pursue the field of IR, excel in it and take it to newer heights. *Dr Chirag K Ahuja, the organizing secretary* presented the activities of the State Branch over the last year, which included conducting training and awareness programs across medical colleges regarding the field of interventional radiology.
