Mahendergarh,23.04.25-To promote digital safety and enhance practical cybersecurity skills, the ICT Section of the Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh, organized a Cyber Awareness Session and Hands-On Cybersecurity Workshop for students, research scholars, and other stakeholders of the University.

The event commenced with a welcome address by Shri Anant Rajee Bara, Assistant Professor, SOET CSE, followed by Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Incharge, ICT Section, who shared the vision of the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Tankeswhar Kumar. The Vice Chancellor’s message emphasized the growing importance of cybersecurity education in today’s digitally connected world.
The Cybersecurity Threat & Awareness Session was led by experts from RootxCon Foundation — Shri Vikas Kumar, Senior Cyber Crime Officer, and Shri Aashish Kumar, Cyber Expert. They addressed a range of real-world cyber threats, including Digital Arrest Scams, Deep fakes, Fraudulent Gaming Apps, Cryptocurrency and Investment Scams, Sextortion, and QR Code-based Frauds. The session aimed to educate participants on recognizing and responding to various cyber frauds. Following this, a Hands-On Cybersecurity Workshop was conducted, specifically designed for Computer Science and IT students. Participants were trained through live demonstrations on Social Engineering Techniques, OSINT (Open-Source Intelligence), Password Bypass Methods, IoT Security, and Wi-Fi Cracking Techniques. The workshop provided practical exposure to modern cybersecurity challenges and solutions.
More than 100 students and faculty members of CUH and Panipat Institute of Engineering & Technology, Panipat actively participated, making the event highly interactive and informative. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Rakesh Kumar, who expressed his gratitude to the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor for his continued support. He also appreciated the contributions of the expert speakers, the organizing secretaries Sh. Anant Rajee Bara and Mr. Amit Kumar, and the ICT team for ensuring the event’s success.
