Chandigarh/New Delhi/Ambala, November 14 – Haryana’s Energy, Transport, and Labor Minister Sh. Anil Vij today responded to Punjab’s Chief Minister regarding the creation of a new Haryana Assembly building in Chandigarh, saying, “Punjab’s Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann says that Chandigarh belongs to Punjab. However, it will be yours only when you transfer the Hindi-speaking areas to Haryana and give us the SYL canal water. Until then, we have a claim on it.”

Sh. Vij was answering media perons' questions in the media gallery during the Assembly session in Chandigarh.

After the next delimitation, Haryana's Assembly could possibly have 120 members – Vij

He continued and said that "We are here, but only as long as Punjab does not implement the agreement made between Haryana and Punjab. How, then, can Chandigarh be considered Punjab's?" He added, “When Punjab and Haryana separated, Haryana was accommodated within this (current Assembly building). Currently, Haryana has 90 members, and after the next delimitation, it is estimated to have 120 members. There is not enough space in the current Assembly for 120 members, so we (Haryana) had already prepared for this.”

"Now the entire system has been streamlined," – Vij

Responding to a question about the inclusion of more people in Haryana’s Below Poverty Line (BPL) list, Energy Minister Sh. Anil Vij said that “Previously, some people were unable to get BPL cards, and they kept going around without anyone addressing their issues. Now, the entire system has been streamlined, so every eligible person can receive a BPL card. Why would anyone be troubled by this?”

"Congress has established a university of lies," – Vij

Answering a question on Congress raising the issue of EVMs in the Assembly, Sh. Vij said, "This is part of Congress's agenda, and they have built a ‘university of lies’ where the curriculum includes blaming the Election Commission if they lose, and then blaming EVMs."

"If EVMs are faulty, Congress should lead by example and call for a re-poll, where Congress candidate won," – Vij

Sh. Vij asked Bhupinder Singh Hooda, “I would like to ask Hooda Sahab, in the seats Congress won, were the EVMs working fine there? If EVMs were faulty, they should have been faulty throughout the state. So how can Congress win and still claim EVMs were faulty where BJP won? This logic makes no sense!” Advising Hooda, he added that “You are an advocate, such statements are unbecoming. Call for re-polls in the seats Congress won. If you claim EVMs are faulty, set an example by re-polling where Congress emerged victorious. EVMs are verified in the presence of all party representatives at various stages. Despite this, Congress’s argument of faulty EVMs implies that either their representatives are uninformed or lack understanding.”

"BJP is going to win in Maharashtra," – Vij

When asked about the selection of a Leader of the Opposition in Haryana after the Maharashtra and Jharkhand elections, Vij said that “BJP will win in Maharashtra. Leaders of Opposition are chosen by parties, not factions. Congress is not a single party but a collection of factions that came together for the elections. Thus, they have not been able to decide on a Leader of Opposition, even after two sessions have run without one.”

On Anil Vij's safety concerns: "I have already written to the then Chief Secretary on this matter," – Vij*

Responding to a question regarding Congress MLA Ashok Arora’s concern about Sh. Anil Vij’s safety, he said that "I had already informed the then Chief Secretary in writing and fully apprised him of the situation over the phone as well. Time will tell what happens next."

"If I have raised an issue, then it must be serious," – Vij

When asked about the issue raised in the Assembly regarding the reduction in Sh. Vij's security, he said that "If I have raised an issue, it is serious. When the investigation occurs, more details will be revealed, but so far, no one has asked me about it."

"This is nothing new; the opposition always uses this common dialogue," – Vij

Responding to a question about the opposition’s statement in the address that there is nothing new, he said that “This is the first session, and the government has mentioned its election commitments. I have been an MLA seven times, and no matter the opposition, they always use the common dialogue that there is nothing new. This is their standard line.”
