CHANDIGARH, 23.12.24-Marking the 135th birth anniversary of Justice Mehr Chand Mahajan in a soulful manner, Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, organised a havan ceremony here today. Held under the aegis of Character Building Committee (CBC) and IQAC of the college, the ceremony was graced by Mrs. Sneh Mahajan, daughter of Justice Mehr Chand Mahajan and former Principal of the college, as the Guest of Honour. Paying rich tributes to the illustrious legacy of Justice Mehr Chand Mahajan, Mrs. Sneh Mahajan shared the inspiring story of Justice Mahajan’s life journey, and the lesser known anecdotes about him. She also reminisced how the college was built in the memory of her father, and expressed appreciation for the way the institution has risen from strength to strength over the years.
In another event to observe Balidan Diwas of Swami Shraddhanand Ji, the NSS units and CBC, under the aegis of IQAC, held a tree plantation ceremony followed by felicitation of water conservation warriors of the college.
Officiating Principal Ms. Suman Mahajan remembered the great legacy of Justice Mehr Chand Mahajan, and asserted that the college is committed to upholding his ideals, and empowering young women through education. She also paid tribute to Swami Shraddhanand Ji as she eulogised his bravery and sacrifice, and added that his vision continues to guide the DAV fraternity.
