MAHENDERGARH, 23.12.24-Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh unveiled a book titled Emerging Dynamics of India-Afghanistan Relations: Regional Cooperation and Global Politics on Monday. The book, authored by Dr. Rajeev Kumar Singh, Professor of Political Science at CUH, and Prof. Shantesh Kumar Singh from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), has been published by Springer-Palgrave.
During the launch, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar underscored the book's significance, emphasizing that peace is a cornerstone for societal development. He remarked that India's philosophy of peace transcends borders, positioning the nation as a global advocate for harmony. Highlighting the book's value, he noted that it delves into contemporary India-Afghanistan relations while also exploring the historical, cultural, and religious bonds between the two nations. Congratulating the authors for their dedication, he wished them continued success.
Speaking at the event, Prof. Rajeev Kumar Singh elaborated on the book's unique perspective. He explained that while international relations are often examined through a Western lens, this book adopts an Indian viewpoint on India-Afghanistan relations. He emphasized Afghanistan's historical significance in the concepts of Akhand Bharat (Undivided India) and Greater India, citing the coexistence of Hindu and Buddhist traditions in the region. The book addresses India-Afghanistan relations through socio-cultural, historical, and contemporary geopolitical frameworks.
Prof. Payal Kawar Chandel, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, congratulated the authors and highlighted the book's academic value. She noted its relevance for scholars, policymakers, and researchers in political science, offering vital insights into India's relationships with its neighbors.
The event was attended by distinguished faculty members, including Dr. Rajendra Meena, Prof. Sushila Soriya, Prof. Vishwa Choudhary, Dr. Renu, Dr. Ravi Pratap Pandey, Dr. Vishnu, and Dr. Pradeep Kumar.
