MUMBAI, 15.12.24-The teaser of Saako 363, an upcoming historical drama based on the true story of Amrita Devi Bishnoi and her community’s sacrifice for environmental preservation, was unveiled at a special Bishnoi Samaj event in Rajasthan. The film pays homage to the extraordinary courage of 363 Bishnois who laid down their lives to protect trees, marking a profound chapter in Indian and global history.
Set in 18th-century Rajasthan, Saako 363 recounts the struggle of the Bishnoi community against King Abhay Singh’s minister, Girdharlal Bhandari, who sought to fell trees in their villages for the construction of the king’s Flower Palace. Amrita Devi, portrayed by Sneha Ullal, stood as a symbol of resilience and devotion to nature, leading her community to sacrifice their lives to protect the environment.
The Bishnoi philosophy, rooted in Jambheshwar Maharaj’s 29 principles, teaches the importance of preserving nature and wildlife. One of its core tenets, “If you have to cut your head to save a tree, it’s a cheap deal,” comes alive in this powerful narrative.
The film features an ensemble cast, including Sneha Ullal, Milind Gunaji, Sahil Kohli . Directed by Ramratan Bishnoi and Vikram Bishnoi, with music by Milan Harish and lyrics by Ramratan Bishnoi, Saako 363 promises an emotionally charged experience.
