Chandigarh, December 20: ‘In today’s world, entrepreneurship is one of the essential tools we need to build resilience, drive innovation, and prepare individuals for the challenges of the future, especially girls from marginalized backgrounds.’ Shared Sr. Sefali Parmar, Principal of Carmel Convent School Chandigarh, while sharing a brief about a new initiative of “R.U.G.-Rise Up Girls Company under a President Droupadi Murmu Fan Club”, at Kitabghar, by volunteers of Yuvsatta and Girls Parliament of their school.
Pramod Sharma founder of Yuvsatta added that at Kitabghar a ‘R.U.G.-Rise Up Girls Company’, is formed today with 19 adolescent girls of slum settlement of Bapudham Colony, Sector 26, Chandigarh. The initiative will arm them with free, market-oriented vocational skills, as well as job and entrepreneurial training. With an initial contribution of INR 100 by each participating girl and double of that contribution from Yuvsatta’s side, they soon plan to take this total investment of INR 5,700/- to One lac within next one year, by selling sanitary pads in their free time, among their peers and in their communities.
