CHANDIGARH,19.03.24-A Seven-Day Special NSS Camp on the theme of “Swachhta Abhiyan and Health & Hygiene” was organized from 27th February to 4th March, 2024 at Dev Samaj College for Women, Sector 45-B, Chandigarh. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Munish Kumar, Senior Endocrinologist, PGI, Chandigarh and Prof. Dr Neeru Malik, Principal, Dev Samaj College for Women. A number of activities were planned for holistic development of the volunteers.

Prof. Praveen Goyal, NSS Coordinator, Senator and Syndicate member, Panjab University, Chandigarh inaugurated the blood donation camp and graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Special enthusiasm towards blood donation was seen among the students, volunteers and college staff. 80 units of blood were collected. In his address, Prof. Goyal appreciated the blood donors and also inspired people to contribute enthusiastically in this noble cause. The blood donors were also given citations.

During the camp volunteers also conducted a health survey in Burail, and a signature campaign with the Electoral Literacy Club of the college. The camp activities included cleanliness and beautification of the campus, a dance workshop. During the camp, special attention was given to the all-round development of volunteers.

Dr. Nemi Chand Golia, State NSS Liaison Officer, Chandigarh marked his presence as the Chief Guest at the valedictory function. Prof Dr Neeru Malik congratulated the NSS Programme Officers Dr Lovleen Kaur Sohi and Ms Ruchi Arora for successfully conducting the camp. Dr Golia inspired the students to work for the society selflessly and become responsible and caring citizens of a great nation. Dr Sohi presented the annual NSS Report. Best volunteers were given prizes and Ms Arora delivered a vote of thanks.
