CHANDIGARH,25.11.25-The two-day 9th Annual National Conference of the *Society for Coronary Imaging and Physiology (SCIP India 2025)*that concluded in Chandigarh, successfully bringing together leading cardiologists and medical professionals to advance the understanding and practice of imaging-guided coronary angioplasty.
The conference, organized by the Department of Cardiology, PGIMER, Chandigarh, attracted over 250 delegates, including specialists from across India and abroad, making it one of the region’s most significant cardiology academic gatherings.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. (Dr.) Rajesh Vijayvergiya, Organising Secretary of SCIP India 2025, highlighted the importance of the event in enhancing clinical knowledge and skill development. He noted that in-depth discussions on advanced imaging technologies, evolving treatment strategies, and real-world case demonstrations would substantially benefit physicians in performing safer, more precise coronary interventions.
The conference was formally inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Vivek Lal, Director of PGIMER, who served as the Chief Guest. In his address, Dr Lal emphasised the critical role of heart-healthy lifestyle choices—including proper diet, physical activity, avoiding alcohol, smoking & stress and a timely medical consultation—in preventing heart attacks and reducing the burden of cardiovascular disease in India.
