Mahendergarh, 26.11.25-The Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh, has signed a Technology License Agreement with M/S RCICO Liveable Seven Blu Reform Farmer Producer Company Limited, Jhajjar, for its patented innovation, “Kachri Spread.” This landmark collaboration marks CUH’s first-ever technology transfer and aims to promote an innovative, sustainable functional food product while strengthening rural entrepreneurship and farmer participation in the value chain.
Prof. (Dr.) Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of CUH, stated that the agreement reflects the university’s commitment to translating research into real-world solutions. He congratulated the inventors for transforming an underutilized, low-input crop into a value-added product with strong commercial and nutritional potential. By transferring the technology to a Farmer Producer Company (FPC), CUH is enabling farmers to engage directly in production, branding, and commercialization, thus ensuring that economic benefits reach rural communities.
Sh. Sanjay Jakhar, Director of the FPC, expressed his appreciation for the partnership and highlighted the untapped potential of Kachri, which often goes waste due to lack of awareness and scientific processing methods. He noted that the development of an eco-friendly, functional food product from this crop can create new market opportunities at both national and global levels.
Prof. Suneel Kumar, Registrar, emphasized that the agreement demonstrates the power of academia–industry collaboration in addressing nutritional and health challenges. Prof. Neelam Sangwan, Dean, R&D, added that such initiatives showcase CUH’s strong research ecosystem and commitment to technology commercialization. Head, Nutrition Biology, Prof. Umesh Kumar was also present on this occasion.
The inventors — Dr. Anita Kumari, Prof. Surender Singh, and Dr. Deepika — shared that the spread was developed with a focus on nutritional value, sensory appeal, and shelf-life, aligning with the rising demand for functional foods. The agreement was signed in the presence of university dignitaries, reaffirming CUH’s alignment with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, rural innovation, and sustainable development.
