Chandigarh, December 5: Regarding the conduct of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led government in Punjab, Bharatiya Janata Party Scheduled Caste Morcha Punjab Vice President Paramjit Singh Kainth has accused it of weakening democracy and misusing the police machinery. He said that during the filing of nomination papers for the District Council and Panchayat Samiti elections in Punjab, the nomination papers of opposition party candidates were being torn by hired goons, and the Aam Aadmi Party is deliberately weakening democracy by using the police machinery as a weapon of political power, which is dangerous for democracy.
State BJP leader Paramjit Kainth said that the actions, policies, and rules of the Aam Aadmi Party leaders show that anything can be done for the sake of power; weakening democracy in Punjab, rigging elections, misuse of police, undermining democratic dignity, and alleged misuse of government machinery during the election process have become commonplace. He alleged a "naked dance" of hooliganism and Bullying during the filing of nomination papers for the District Council and Panchayat Samiti elections, which Kainth termed a "mockery of democracy." He claimed that AAP is creating a new and negative history by misusing the police force in the elections of democratic institutions in Punjab. AAP is ready to go to any extent to grab power, is bent on weakening democracy, and is trying to set a bad example for society. Paramjit Kainth , a prominent leader of the Scheduled Caste community, emphasized that the party that came to power with the slogan of "revolution" is now undermining the dignity of democracy through undemocratic means. This reflects the political rivalry and accusations in Punjab, raising serious concerns about the alleged misuse of government machinery during the election process. Party supremo Arvind Kejriwal should apologize to the people of Punjab for the blatant hooliganism and bullying that Aam Aadmi Party leaders committed during the elections.
