Ludhiana, December 06, 2025-The week-long inter-college Youth Festival ‘YuvTarang’ of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana concluded on a vibrant and celebratory note. The College of Veterinary Science, Ludhiana clinched the Overall Championship Trophy, marking an outstanding performance across various artistic and literary domains.
The event was honoured by the presence of Sh. Harpreet Singh Sandhu, State Information Commissioner, Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal, Vice-Chancellor, PAU, Dr Nirmal Jaura, DSW, PAU and Dr Kiran Bains, Dean, Collage of Community Science, PAU. Renowned Punjabi Singer Sh. Pammi Bai also attended the event. All dignitaries were felicitated during the ceremony.
Dr. Jatinder Paul Singh Gill, Vice-Chancellor, presided over the function. He emphasized the festival’s importance in nurturing students' all-round personality and congratulated university teams for the smooth and successful conduct of the event. Sh. Harpreet Singh Sandhu and Dr. Satbir Singh Gosal have encouraged university students participate in such events to outshine in their life.
Dr. Rabinder Singh Aulakh , Director Students’ Welfare shared that the 14th Inter-College Youth Festival was held in two phases from November 26–29 and December 3–5, featuring enthusiastic participation from more than 250 students across the five constituent colleges—College of Fisheries; College of Veterinary Science, Ludhiana and Rampura Phul; College of Dairy & Food Science Technology; College of Animal Biotechnology—along with Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Amritsar, and Veterinary Polytechnic, Kaljharani. A tribute to legendary Bollywood actor Dharmendra was also paid.
Organizing Secretary Dr. SPS Ghuman reported that competitions were conducted in a wide range of categories including Fine Arts, Theatre, Music, Dance, and Literary events. Renowned Punjabi singer and actor Sh. Hardeep Grewal captivated the audience with his vibrant performances.
At the prize distribution ceremony, winners were honoured by the dignitaries. The Best Male and Female Actors received gold medals and cash awards instituted in the memory of celebrated Punjabi actor and Kabaddi commentator Dr. Darshan Bari.
