SHIMLA-9 January, 2026-PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh called on Union Rural Development, Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at New Delhi on Thursday evening.

He urged Shivraj Singh Chouhan for considering to take up three left out road packages of Dodra Kwar (Larot-Kiterwari) from pradhan mantri gram sadak yojana-1 (PMGSY). He said that though the scheme is closed yet considering its remote location, it would be in the interest of state if considered sympathetically which would highly benefit the rural population residing in such a high altitude in tough geographical conditions.

He also urged to release Rs. 76 crore due amount pending from Government of India for speedy construction of various road projects.

PWD Minister requested the Union Minister to accord approval for 294 road proposals recommended by the Empowered Committee under PMGSY-4 for the state of Himachal Pradesh. He said that PMGSY-4 will play an important role in providing access to left out and unconnected habitations besides benefitting the overall rural population.

He said that these 294 road proposals having an aggregate length of 1538 kms will provide connectivity to more than 250 habitations and including 429 unconnected habitations. These proposals would contribute to substantial socio economic growth to the rural population, he added. He said that roads assume great importance in the state as larger chunk of population resides in rural areas and roads are main source of connectivity.

The Union Minister heard the request of the PWD Minister and assured of full cooperation from the Government of India. He said that he would take up the matter of Dodra Kwar road at appropriate level in Government of India. He also directed the officers of the Ministry to release the pending amount to the State.
