Building resilient hospitals demands continuous training, emergency preparedness, and a shared culture of responsibility among healthcare professionals to ensure safe, ethical, and patient-centric care,” stated Prof. Vivek Lal, Director, PGIMER, Chandigarh , while addressing participants as the Special Guest at the two-day Capacity Building Programme on ‘Safe Hospitals – Empowering Healthcare Workers’, organised at the PGIMER Satellite Centre, Sangrur, today.

Reaffirming its leadership in patient safety and healthcare preparedness, the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education & Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, successfully organised the two-day programme on January 16 and 17, 2026, at the Conference Room, Hospital Block, PGIMER Satellite Centre, Sangrur. The programme aimed to strengthen hospital safety frameworks and enhance the knowledge, skills, and emergency preparedness of healthcare professionals, with a focused emphasis on delivering safe, resilient, and patient-centric healthcare services.

Accredited with four credit hours by the Punjab Medical Council, the programme underscored PGIMER’s commitment to academic excellence and continuous professional development. Expert deliberations were delivered by eminent faculty from PGIMER, Chandigarh, including specialists from the Departments of Hospital Administration and Medical Microbiology, who shared evidence-based practices and strategic insights to reinforce hospital safety systems.
