CHANDIGARH POLICE BRIEF OF CASES DATED-28.02.2026
Two arrested under Arms Act
A case FIR No. 46 u/s 25/54/59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh against Dhruv @ Bhuvi S/o Parveen Kumar R/o #1156, Vikas Nagar, Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh, aged 21 years, who was arrested from near Shiv Mandir, Makhan Majra, Chandigarh, on 27-02-2026 at about 11:10 pm, and one button-operated knife was recovered from his possession.
A case FIR No. 36 u/s 25/54/59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Sector-31, Chandigarh against Sahil @ Baccha S/o Subama R/o #1034, Deep Complex, Hallo Majra, Chandigarh, aged 19 years, and Vishal @ Bedi S/o Vijay Giri R/o #40, Phase-2, Raipur Khurd, Chandigarh, aged 20 years, who were arrested from the open ground, Hallo Majra, Chandigarh, on 26-02-2026 at about 10:20 pm, and knives were recovered from their possession. Both accused have been arrested and are in police lock-up.
Dowry Death
A case FIR No. 40 u/s 80 and 3(5) of BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-11, Chandigarh on the complaint of Vipin R/o #151, Sector-25, Chandigarh, against Sachin (husband), Rama (mother-in-law) and Vijay (father-in-law), residents of Sector-25, Chandigarh, who allegedly harassed the complainant’s sister R/o Sector-25/D, Chandigarh, for bringing more dowry, due to which she committed suicide at her residence on 27-02-2026. The accused have been arrested and are in police lock-up.
Theft
A case FIR No. 37 u/s 303(2) of BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-31, Chandigarh on the complaint of Sidhant R/o #741, Phase-1, Ram Darbar, Chandigarh, alleging that an unknown person stole away a black-coloured lady purse containing two gold rings, ₹7,000 cash and documents from his car No. CH-01BU-4292 parked near his house between 7:00 am and 12:15 pm on 26-02-2026.
Murder
A case FIR No. 28 u/s 103(1) of BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-39, Chandigarh on the complaint of Farmaan R/o Village Buterla, Sector-41/B, Chandigarh, alleging that his brother Nursleen, who was angry in nature, murdered his wife Nagma W/o Farmaan and thereafter committed suicide at their residence on 26-02-2026 at about 11:00 am.
Accident
A case FIR No. 37 u/s 125 and 281 of BNS has been registered at Police Station Maloya, Chandigarh on the complaint of Murugan R/o Shahpur Colony, Sector-38/W, Chandigarh, alleging that an unknown auto driver sped away after hitting his son Vansh and another person Jitender Jyoti R/o Sector-38/A, Chandigarh, near the Sector 25/38 light point on 25-02-2026 at about 9:30 pm. Both victims sustained injuries and were admitted to GH-16. Later, the accused Jagar Nath Sah S/o Babu Lal Sah R/o #1858, Small Flats, Dhanas, Chandigarh (45 years) was arrested and later released on bail.
