Chandigarh, February 28, 2026:MY Bharat Chandigarh under Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India successfully organised the District Level Round of Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2026 at its office in Sector 12, Chandigarh. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 80 young participants who deliberated on the compelling theme, “50 Years of Emergency: Lessons for Indian Democracy.”
The programme provided a vibrant democratic platform for young minds to articulate their perspectives, reflect on constitutional values, and engage in meaningful dialogue on the evolution of Indian democracy. Participants displayed remarkable confidence, critical analysis, and oratory excellence.
After a highly competitive round, the following participants were declared winners and selected for the State Level Round:
1st Position – Mudita Jain
2nd Position – Devashi Manhas
3rd Position – Tamanna Sharma
4th Position – Parishthi
5th Position – Manasvi
From the State Level Round, three participants will be selected to represent Chandigarh at the National Level, which will be held at Samvidhan Sadan, New Delhi.
The event was graced by Jasmanpreet Singh, Senior Deputy Mayor, Chandigarh, as the Chief Guest. He applauded the participants for their insightful deliberations and encouraged them to continue contributing actively towards nation-building.
The esteemed jury panel comprised Prof. Divya Monga, Sh. Ishan Bhutani, Prof. Sunil Dutt, Dr. Amandeep Singh, and Mrs. Dheerja Sharma, who evaluated the participants on parameters including content relevance, constitutional understanding, articulation, and overall presentation.
The winners were awarded certificates and mementoes, while certificates of participation were distributed to all participants in recognition of their enthusiasm and contribution.
