Chandigarh, March 8:- Continuing its sustained campaign against encroachments and unauthorized activities, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh today carried out an extensive anti-encroachment drive in Sector 35, Burail (Sector 45 area), Manimajra and the car bazaar in Sector 13.

During the drive, the enforcement team found several car dealers displaying and parking vehicles on public spaces without the mandatory stickers. Taking strict action, the team removed and impounded 13 cars found in violation of the norms.

Apart from this, the enforcement staff conducted thorough checks in Sector 35, Sector 45/Burail and adjoining areas, issuing a total of 82 challans to violators for encroachment and other civic violations.

The drive was conducted under the directions of MC Commissioner Sh. Amit Kumar, IAS, by a dedicated team of five Enforcement Inspectors, who ensured strict compliance with municipal regulations. The operation was carried out smoothly and peacefully.

The commissioner said that MC Chandigarh reiterated its commitment to keeping public spaces free from encroachments and maintaining civic discipline in the city. He further stated that such enforcement drives will continue regularly to ensure adherence to municipal rules and to safeguard the convenience of residents.
