Four arrested under PP Act
Chandigarh Police registered four cases under the PP Act against individuals found drinking in public places and creating nuisance across different parts of the city. Two separate FIRs were lodged at Sector-49 police station after Santosh and Sukhdev Singh were apprehended near Motor Market, while another case was registered in ManiMajra against Dharampal near Khera Mandir. In a similar action, Adrash Pathania was held in Sector-17. All the accused were booked under Section 68-1(B) of the PP Act and Section 355 BNS and were later released on bail.
Two arrested under Arms Act
A case FIR No. 56 u/s 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Maloya, Chandigarh. He reported that Naveen @ Vishal R/o #330/2, Hargobind Nagar, Ward No. 03, Reru, Jalandhar (PB) (age 33 years) was apprehended from Jhampur barrier on 11-04-2026 at about 8:46 PM, and one country-made pistol and 4 live cartridges were recovered from his possession. The accused is in police lock-up.
A case FIR No. 35 u/s 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station IT Park, Chandigarh. He reported that Kishan @ Anda S/o Lal Singh R/o #396, NIC Mani Majra, Chandigarh (age 28 years) was apprehended from near railway fatak parking, NIC Mani Majra on 11-04-2026 at about 8:00 PM, and one kamanidar knife was recovered from his possession. The accused is in police lock-up.
Two arrested in Theft
A case FIR No. 61 u/s 305, 331(3) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-31, Chandigarh on the complaint of Dinesh Singh R/o Deep Complex, Hallo Majra, Chandigarh. He reported that an unknown person broke the lock of his house and stole silver anklet, 5 pairs of silver rings, one gold mangalsutra, 2 gold rings, one pair of gold earrings, Rs 25,000 cash and documents (Aadhaar card and licence) on 09-04-2026. During investigation, accused Akash @ Dhani S/o Rohtash R/o H.no 74 Krishna Enclave Dhakoli Zirakpur Punjab Age 25 years. Investigation of this case is in progress.
A case FIR No. 51 u/s 305(A), 331(3) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-39, Chandigarh on the complaint of Jyoti Sharma R/o Sector-41/C, Chandigarh. She reported that an unknown person broke open the lock of her house and stole 5 pairs of silver anklets, antique silver coins and some cash on 06-04-2026 between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM. During investigation, accused Mintu r /o 1393 sector 52 chd has been arrested in this case.
Cyber Cheating
A case FIR No. 56 u/s 319(2), 318(4), 336(3), 338, 340(2) & 61(2) BNS has been registered at the Cyber Crime Police Station, Chandigarh on the complaint of woman R/o Sector-15/B, Chandigarh. She reported that an unknown person cheated her of Rs 1,37,981 while she was searching for a PG online. No arrest has been made so far.
