Two arrested in Snatching Case

A case FIR No. 49 u/s 304, 3(5), 317(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-26, Chandigarh on the complaint of Shiv Kumar S/o Bhaiya Rai R/o #129A Khudda Lahora, Chandigarh against Rahul S/o Hariram R/o #662 Small Flat Dhanas, aged 24 years, Soran R/o #404 Jhampur, Chandigarh aged 20 years and Lucky, who snatched the complainant’s mobile phone near Bhujal Building, Sector-28 on 28-04-2026 at about 02:45 PM and fled from the spot. Later, two accused namely Rahul and Soran have been arrested. Investigation of the case is in progress.

One arrested under Arms Act

A case FIR No. 69 u/s 25-54-59 Arms Act has been registered at Police Station Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh against Sonu @ Bakri, who was arrested near Satsang Bhawan, Mauli Jagran and found in possession of a button-operated knife. The accused has been sent to judicial custody. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Cheating

A case FIR No. 48 u/s 316(2), 318(4), 3(5) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-26, Chandigarh on the complaint of the complainant against Kassi, Rajesh Singh and Shubhlaxmi, who allegedly cheated the complainant of ₹13,00,000 on the pretext of providing a government job. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Accident

A case FIR No. 44 u/s 125(A), 281 BNS has been registered at Police Station Industrial Area, Chandigarh on the complaint against unknown driver of Innova car No. CH01-BK-9898, who hit the complainant’s auto near Tribune Chowk, Sector-29 and fled from the spot. The victim sustained injuries and was admitted to GMCH-32. Investigation of the case is in progress

Accident (Fatal)

A case FIR No. 45 u/s 106(1), 281 BNS has been registered at Police Station Industrial Area, Chandigarh on the complaint of Dhurri Devi against an unknown motorcycle rider, who hit the motorcycle of Parbhash Kumar near Hallomajra slip road. The injured was later declared brought dead at PGI. Investigation of the case is in progress

Dowry Harassment / Abetment to Suicide Case

A case FIR No. 55 u/s 80 BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-34, Chandigarh on the complaint of Gurtej Singh against Amarjit Singh, Deep Singh, Makhan Singh, Karamjit Kaur and others, who allegedly harassed the complainant’s sister Manpreet Kaur age-29 yrs to bring more dowry resultant later Manpreet Kaur committed suicide by hanging on 07-01-2025. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Theft

A case FIR No. 56 u/s 303(2) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-34, Chandigarh on the complaint of Aditya Sharma against an unknown person, who stole the outdoor AC unit including compressor and coil from his residence in Sector-44/B. Investigation of the case is in progress.

Extortion / Threatening

A case FIR No. 62 u/s 308(4) BNS has been registered at Police Station Sector-39, Chandigarh on the complaint of Harbalkaran Singh R/o SCO No. 26, 2nd Floor, Sector-20/C, Chandigarh against an unknown person, who made threatening calls and sent voice messages on WhatsApp demanding ₹1 crore, later escalating the demand to ₹2 crore and also threatened to harm the complainant and his family members. Investigation of the case is in progress.
