Action against Excise Act

Chandigarh Police arrested Rajiv R/o # 2792 DMC Sector 38/West Chandigarh from near Govt. Tubwell DMC, Chandigarh on 23.06.2026 and recovered 51 Nips Jannat Masaledar Dessi Wine from his possession. A Case FIR No 85 U/S 61-1-14 Excise Act has been registered in Police Station Maloya Chandigarh. Later on the accused bailed out. Investigation of this case is in progress.

Accident

A Case FIR No 98 U/S 281, 125(A) BNS has been registered in Police Station Sector 36 Chandigarh on the complaint of Pranav Sony R/o # 480 Village Kajheri Sector 52 Chandigarh against unknown driver of car no CH01AF-9544 sped away after hit to complainant motor cycle no CH01CT-5714 from sector 52 Chowk on 15.06.2026. Investigation of this case is in progress.

Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant

Chandigarh Police arrested Sandeep Kumar Gupta R/o # Adampur Gonda UP Manager of Hotel Himachal Village Kajheri, Chandigarh. Upon checking of I/o found that one lady R/o Assam is residing in Hotel Himachal no entry of the said lady in the Hotel register as well as no ID Proof of this lady and there is no rent agreement between the manager Sandeep and owner Sukhpal R/o # 372/1 Village Kajheri Chandigarh. Both people were arrested and later on bailed out. A Case FIR No 97 U/S 223 BNS has been registered in Police Station Sector 36 Chandigarh. Investigation of this case is in progress.

Theft

A Case FIR No 80 U/S 305(E), 61(2) BNS has been registered in Police Station Sector 11 Chandigarh on the complaint of Vikram Singh chief of University Security Punjab University Chandigarh against unknown person, an auction is scheduled to be held on 24.06.2026 in France involving Heritage furniture and related items bearing the Inscription /mark “P.U”. The complainant stated that these articles appear to be of significant Historical and institution value and may have been removed from India without authorization. sought necessary legal action into theft of assets of Punjab University. Investigation of this case is in progress.

A Case FIR No 81 U/S 305(E), 61(2) BNS has been registered in Police Station Sector 11 Chandigarh on the complaint of Dr. Vivek Lal Director PGIMER, Chandigarh against unknown person, an auction is scheduled to be held on 24.06.2026 in France involving Heritage furniture and related items bearing the Inscription /mark “PGI/W/CH-0202” ( PGIMER Chandigarh) The complainant stated that these articles appear to be of significant Historical and institution value and may have been removed from India without authorization sought necessary legal action into theft of assets of PGIMER Chandigarh. Investigation of this case is in progress.
