Chandigarh, July 11:- Acting on numerous complaints from the general public and shopkeepers, the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh today carried out a special anti-encroachment drive in Industrial Area Phase-I and Industrial Area Phase-II to reclaim public land from unauthorized occupation.

During the drive, enforcement teams removed and impounded a large quantity of encroaching material, including plastic chairs, tables, mattresses, wooden tables, iron tables and iron counters that had been illegally placed on Municipal Corporation land.

The operation was conducted peacefully with the support of the enforcement staff, ensuring smooth execution without any untoward incident. A total of 92 challans were issued against violators for unauthorized encroachments.

The Municipal Corporation reiterated its commitment to keeping public spaces free from encroachments and appealed to citizens and shopkeepers to refrain from occupying municipal land, warning that such enforcement drives will continue regularly.
