Chandigarh, August 1: As part of the "Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan" being undertaken by the Bharatiya Janata Party, the sacred Kalash containing holy soil brought from the birthplace of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj in Varanasi was accorded a grand and reverential welcome by the Bharatiya Janata Party, Chandigarh Pradesh, upon its arrival in Chandigarh today.
Under the leadership of Bharatiya Janata Party Chandigarh Pradesh President Jitendra Pal Malhotra, senior party leaders, Pradesh and District office-bearers, Mandal Presidents, Morcha office-bearers and a large number of party workers welcomed the 14-member team carrying the sacred Kalash. The team included prominent members such as Scheduled Caste Morcha Pradesh President Amit Khairwal, Mandal No. 3 President Virendra JD, Morcha Pradesh General Secretary Bablu Bharti, Vice President Sunil Bagri, Social Media In-charge Rohit Ghawari, District Presidents Amarjit and Akshay Birla, along with all other members.
They were warmly welcomed with flower showers and chants of devotion.
Representatives of various social and religious organisations associated with Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj, along with a large number of devotees, were also present on the occasion. All those present paid their respects to the sacred Kalash and pledged to take the message of social harmony, equality and brotherhood propagated by Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj to every section of society.
Following the welcome ceremony, the programme transformed into a grand Shobha Yatra, which commenced from the Chandigarh-Punjab border and proceeded to Shri Chintpurni Mata Temple in Sector 32. At various points along the route, devotees and social organisations warmly welcomed the Shobha Yatra. The entire route resonated with chants in praise of Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj, while the message of social harmony created an atmosphere of devotion and enthusiasm.
At Shri Hanuman Temple in Sector 32, the sacred Kalash containing the holy soil was ceremonially installed in accordance with Vedic chants and religious rituals. On the occasion, all devotees present reiterated their resolve to work together for social harmony, unity and the national interest.
Pradesh President Jitendra Pal Malhotra said that the life and teachings of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj convey an unparalleled message of social harmony, equality, service and humanity. The Bharatiya Janata Party is committed to taking his thoughts and ideals to every section of society. He said that the sacred soil brought from Varanasi will now be taken respectfully to all Mandals across Chandigarh, where various programmes will be organised to spread the thoughts, teachings and message of social harmony of Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj among the people.
