Chandigarh, September 1, 2026:The Government Rehabilitation Institute for Intellectual Disabilities (GRIID), Sector 31, Chandigarh, celebrated its 28th Annual Day today on the institute premises with great enthusiasm, warmth and a strong spirit of inclusion.
Dr. Ravneet Kaur, Director, GMCH-32 and Director, GRIID, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Dr. Ajit Sidana, Joint Director, GRIID, formally welcomed the Chief Guest and extended a warm welcome to all the dignitaries, parents, students, faculty members and staff. He highlighted the achievements of the institute and its significant work in the fields of education, rehabilitation, vocational training and empowerment of persons with intellectual disabilities.
A large number of parents, students, college students, faculty members and staff of the institute participated enthusiastically in the Annual Day celebrations. Their active participation added dignity and made the occasion even more memorable.
The students with intellectual disabilities presented a colourful cultural programme comprising songs, dances, skits and other captivating performances. They displayed remarkable talent, creativity, confidence and enthusiasm, earning wholehearted applause and encouragement from the audience.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Ravneet Kaur, Director, GRIID, appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the students and commended the dedication and commitment of the entire GRIID team. She stated that the institute has been consistently providing quality education, rehabilitation, vocational training and opportunities for the holistic development, empowerment and social inclusion of persons with intellectual disabilities.
The occasion also recognised the achievements and abilities of the students, the continued support of their parents, and the dedicated efforts of teachers, clinical professionals, vocational instructors and support staff. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Anil Kumar, Principal, GRIID.
