Chandigarh, September 1:- The Mayor of Chandigarh, Sh. Saurabh Joshi, today laid the foundation stone for various development works aimed at strengthening basic civic infrastructure in Village Burail, near Janj Ghar in the presence of Sh. Kanwarjeet Singh, former Deputy Mayor and area Councillor and other prominent persons of the city.

The development package includes laying of a new fresh-water pipeline in the internal streets and along Phirni Road, besides reconstruction of roads with paver blocks in the internal streets and on Phirni Road, Burail. The works are intended to improve the existing civic infrastructure and provide residents with better and more reliable municipal services.

The new water-supply infrastructure will help strengthen the existing distribution network and improve the availability of fresh water for residents. At the same time, reconstruction of the roads with paver blocks will provide smoother, safer and more durable road surfaces, besides improving connectivity within the village.

Speaking on the occasion, Mayor Sh. Saurabh Joshi said that the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh is committed to ensuring balanced and inclusive development across all areas under its jurisdiction, including villages. He emphasised that providing quality basic amenities to residents is one of the key priorities of the Corporation and that essential infrastructure such as water supply, roads and drainage must be continuously strengthened.

The Mayor further said that development works should be executed in a time-bound and quality-conscious manner, ensuring that the benefits of municipal projects reach residents at the earliest. He stressed that the Corporation would continue to identify and address local infrastructure requirements through planned development and effective monitoring.

The works in Village Burail are expected to bring better water-supply infrastructure, improved internal connectivity and upgraded roads, thereby enhancing the overall civic environment and convenience of residents.

The initiative reflects the Municipal Corporation Chandigarh’s continued commitment to improving civic amenities, strengthening essential infrastructure and ensuring equitable development of every part of the city, with a focus on better quality of life for residents.
