Chandigarh, September 12, 2026:On the national call of the Bharatiya Janata Party, the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ will be organised from September 17 to October 17, 2026, to mark the birthday of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and the completion of 25 years of his public life as Chief Minister and Prime Minister. Addressing a press conference at the BJP Chandigarh office today, State President Shri Jatinder Malhotra shared detailed information about the campaign. State General Secretary Rambir Bhatti, Media In-charge Ravi Rawat, Media Cell In-charge Lalit Takyar, and Legal Cell In-charge Ranjan Lohan were also present during the press conference.
Shri Jatinder Malhotra said that the 25 years of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s public life symbolise an unparalleled journey of service, good governance, dedication and public welfare. The journey, which began on October 7, 2001, with Shri Modi Ji taking charge as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, continues today with his unwavering commitment to serving the people of India as Prime Minister. In keeping with this spirit, the BJP is organising not merely a Seva Pakhwada this year, but a month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’, with the guiding principle: ‘Jan Seva Hi Prabhu Seva’ (Service to the People is Service to God).
He said that for the BJP, politics is not a means of acquiring power but a means of serving society, and ‘Seva Hi Sangathan’ (Service is the Organisation) is its core commitment. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji, continuous efforts have been made to ensure that the benefits of government schemes, welfare initiatives and development reach the last person in society.
Major Programmes of Seva Sankalp Abhiyan in Chandigarh
Shri Malhotra said that the campaign will bring together people from different sections of society through the following major programmes:
*Seva Diwas — September 17
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s birthday will be observed as ‘Seva Diwas’, with blood donation camps and various other service activities being organised across Chandigarh.
At 7 PM on the same day, under the ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya’ programme, every booth, family and, in particular, beneficiaries of government welfare schemes will light diyas at their homes. Each diya will symbolise gratitude for the Prime Minister’s 25 years of public service and the collective resolve to build ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’.
*Mere Sapno Ka Bharat — Seva Chitra
To connect children with the themes of ‘25 Years of Service and Dedication’ and the vision of a ‘Viksit Bharat’, painting and speech competitions will be organised. Outstanding participants will be felicitated, while state-level winners will receive certificates bearing the signature of the Chief Minister.
*NaMo Seva — Ankahani Kahaniyan
The story of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s 25 years of service, public welfare initiatives and the transformation witnessed across the country will be taken to the people through street plays (nukkad nataks). Performances will be organised in local languages at schools, colleges, panchayats and public places.
*Aangan Milan Seva
Anganwadi workers and ASHA workers will be felicitated. Information regarding nutrition, healthcare and women and child welfare schemes will be provided to mothers and children in simple language. Fun and engaging activities will also be organised for children.
*Seva Ki Kahani
Real-life stories of citizens who have benefited from Central Government schemes will be shared on social media through reels, videos and photographs. A target has been set to create at least 10 one-minute reels featuring genuine beneficiaries from each Shakti Kendra.
*Seva Jyoti Kalash Yatra — Sankalp of Viksit Bharat
A walking yatra or bike rally carrying the ‘Seva Jyoti’ will be organised by connecting different areas. Through this initiative, gratitude will be expressed for Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji’s 25 years of public service, while people from all sections of society will be connected with the resolve of ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’.
*Seva Mera Yogdaan
Between September 17 and October 17, activities based on 25 different service themes will be organised at various locations through public participation. In each Assembly constituency, service activities will be undertaken at a minimum of two locations where the positive transformation before and after the intervention is clearly visible.
*Seva Setu Abhiyan
Service camps will be organised at the block level, with an effort to provide citizens direct access to the benefits of various Central and State Government welfare schemes under one roof.
*Seva Ke Rang, Rashtra Ke Sang
At prominent public locations, the message of public welfare schemes, national symbols and Viksit Bharat will be showcased through human formation rangolis. Wide participation of local artists, women, self-help groups and students will be ensured as part of this initiative.
*Chandigarh’s Resolve for Viksit Bharat through ‘Seva’
State President Shri Jatinder Malhotra said that the objective of all these programmes is not merely to organise events, but to reach the last person in society with the spirit of service and ensure maximum public participation. He called upon all BJP Chandigarh workers to transform the campaign into a people’s movement by connecting every section of society with it.
*‘Ayushman Mitra’ Helpline to Assist Ayushman Beneficiaries
The Medical Cell of BJP Chandigarh has launched the ‘Ayushman Mitra’ helpline to assist beneficiaries of the Ayushman Bharat scheme. The helpline number 7341113573 will become fully operational from September 17, the birthday of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji.
Through this helpline, beneficiaries of the Ayushman Bharat scheme who face any difficulty in availing themselves of the benefits of the scheme will be able to seek assistance. The BJP Chandigarh Medical Cell will make every effort to ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive the necessary guidance and support to access the scheme and that appropriate assistance is provided for resolving any difficulties they may face.
*‘Nyaya Paramarsh Kendra’ for Free Legal Assistance to Citizens
As part of the same service-oriented initiative, the Legal Cell of BJP Chandigarh has launched the ‘Nyaya Paramarsh Kendra’ with the objective of providing free legal assistance and guidance to citizens.
Under this initiative, the Legal Cell team will be available every Friday at the BJP office, Sector 33, Chandigarh, where citizens can share their legal concerns and receive necessary legal advice and guidance.
The initiative aims to create awareness among the citizens of Chandigarh about their legal rights, provide guidance for the protection of their rights, and extend free legal assistance to those in need. This initiative by BJP Chandigarh is an important step towards empowering citizens and translating the spirit of ‘Seva Hi Sangathan’ into action at the grassroots level.
