Chandigarh, September 16, 2026: As part of Poshan Maah 2026, refresher training on the updated POSHAN Tracker Application was conducted for Anganwadi Workers and Area Supervisors of Project-II at Snehalaya, Maloya, Chandigarh. The training focused on familiarizing field functionaries with the application’s updated features and ensuring accurate and timely data entry.
An AYUSH Camp and a PMMVY Camp were also organized at Mauli Colony for pregnant and lactating women. The camps provided health-related guidance and raised awareness about maternal and child health. Participants were also informed about the benefits, eligibility criteria and registration process under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY).
A Community-Based Event (CBE) on Pre-School Education was organized in Sector 35 under the RC Dhanas-I Circle. Children participated in playful and engaging learning activities, while parents were sensitized to the importance of Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) and its role in children’s holistic development.
An awareness lecture on Hot Cooked Meals and Nutritious Diet was organized in the presence of the CDPOs, ANM and Area Supervisor of Project-II. The ANM sensitized participants to the importance of a balanced and nutritious diet, essential nutrients and the health benefits of freshly prepared hot cooked meals. An interactive discussion was also held on appropriate dietary practices and the importance of a healthy diet for overall well-being.
Various field-level activities were also undertaken, including home visits to demonstrate complementary feeding recipes using locally available ingredients, lectures on oral hygiene and diarrhoea, growth monitoring, identification and management of children with Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM), and counselling of their parents. Pregnant women were also counselled on preparations for childbirth.
In addition, youth group meetings were conducted to promote health and nutrition awareness. Children participated in preparing ECCE learning materials from waste materials available at home, thereby encouraging creativity and learning through locally available resources.
