Chandigarh, October 7:- City Mayor Sh. Saurabh Joshi, today commenced the renovation works of the Community Centre at Milk Colony, Dhanas, aimed at providing improved and upgraded facilities to the residents of the area.

The renovation project has been taken up at an estimated cost of ₹1.53 crore and is scheduled to be completed within a period of six months.
Sh. Kuljeet Singh Sandhu Area Councillor, was also present virtually on the occasion. Sh. MC Councillors Sh. Harjeet Singh and Sh. Satinder Singh Sidhu were also present.

As part of the renovation, several major works will be undertaken at the Community Centre, including soundproofing of the existing hall, installation of a false ceiling, electrical and public health works, and finishing works including painting and whitewashing.

A significant component of the project is the construction of a new hall measuring 46 feet × 36 feet on the first floor, which will be developed for use as a gymnasium, providing residents with better recreational and fitness facilities.

Speaking on the occasion, the Mayor said that the Municipal Corporation is committed to strengthening community infrastructure and ensuring that residents have access to modern, safe and well-maintained public facilities. He said that the renovation of the Community Centre would provide a better space for community activities, fitness and social engagement for the residents of Dhanas.

The Mayor further emphasised that development and upgradation of community facilities across Chandigarh is an important priority of the Municipal Corporation, with a focus on improving the quality of civic amenities at the neighbourhood level.
