Chandigarh, October 10 - Haryana Governor Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh today called upon corporate bodies, philanthropic organizations, social institutions and individuals to come forward and contribute towards humanitarian initiatives aimed at empowering persons with disabilities and improving their quality of life.

Addressing an Artificial Limbs Donation Camp organized by Act Humane at Lok Bhavan, Haryana, the Governor emphasized that even a small contribution in the form of time, skills or resources could make a meaningful difference in someone’s life. He said that many persons, despite their abilities and determination, need timely support to regain independence and pursue their aspirations. Collective efforts by society can help restore not only mobility but also confidence, dignity and hope.

The First Lady of Haryana, Smt. Mitra Ghosh, was also present on the occasion. During the camp, advanced artificial limbs were provided free of cost to 16 needy beneficiaries.

Interacting with the beneficiaries, the Governor said that the camp was not merely about providing artificial limbs, but about restoring confidence, dignity and hope. He expressed the hope that the support extended through this initiative would enable the beneficiaries to lead more independent and fulfilling lives.

The Governor said that the Haryana Government has consistently accorded priority to the welfare, empowerment and social security of persons with disabilities. Various welfare measures and schemes are being implemented to promote their dignity, accessibility, education, rehabilitation and economic empowerment. He added that government initiatives achieve greater impact when complemented by the compassion and commitment of civil society, voluntary organizations, philanthropic institutions and responsible citizens.

Congratulating the beneficiaries and their families, the Governor expressed confidence that the advanced artificial limbs would help them regain mobility, enhance their self-confidence and pursue their goals with renewed determination. He also appreciated Act Humane for its efforts towards serving the needy and promoting inclusive and compassionate social development.

Secretary to the Governor Sh. Vijaykumar Bhavikatti, ADC to the Governor Sqn. Ldr. P. Bharat, General Manager of Act Humane Sh. Deep Kalra, Ms. Harleen Kaur and other representatives of Act Humane were also present on the occasion.
