CHANDIGARH,24.10.26-On October 22, 2026, the Sociology Department at GGDSD College, Sector 32, conducted a field visit to Don Bosco Navjeevan Society in Sector 24 to research the socio-economic conditions of urban slum communities. This visit helped the students to gather firsthand data on the lived realities of urban poverty and examine how systemic inequality and limited education impact marginalized populations.

By observing the interventions at the society, students successfully bridged theoretical models of social stratification with practical field research. The visit was organized under the guidance of Dr. Mona Arora, Head of the Sociology Department, and the faculty members Ms. Tanvi, Mr. Sanjeev, and Mr. Dhruv Teji accompanied the students to the fieldwork site. During the visit, faculty members also distributed Eatables to the children, fostering a warm bond of affection within the community.

Principal Dr. Ajay Sharma appreciated the efforts of the department and the students dedication towards their fieldwork.
