Chandigarh, 16.03.26 - The Chandigarh Beopar Mandal (CBM) welcomes the revised FSSAI registration norms, which are expected to benefit the trading community across the country.

Sanjiv Chadha, President, Chandigarh Beopar Mandal, thanked the Chandigarh Administration for forwarding the issue to the Central Government and said that this demand had been taken up by CBM at various platforms for a long time and with this latest Govt notification not only it has got fulfilled but the new norms shall go a long way towards ease of doing business as pursued by our honourable Prime Minister.

Charanjiv Singh, Chairman, CBM, and Member, National Trader Welfare Board, expressed his gratitude to Sunil Singhi, Chairman, National Trader Welfare Board, for his efforts in getting this relief for the trading community.

The revised norms simplify the registration process and reduce compliance costs, especially for small-scale food businesses. The new turnover thresholds are:
- Registration: Turnover up to Rs. 1.5 crore
- State License: Turnover above Rs. 1.5 crore and up to Rs. 50 crore
- Central License: Turnover above Rs. 50 crore

Diwakar Sahoonja, Vice Chairman cum Official Spokesperson, CBM, said, "Notably, the revised norms also provide for perpetual validity of FSSAI registrations and licenses, eliminating the need for yearly renewals. This will significantly reduce the compliance burden on traders and food businesses."
