Chandigarh 6th April -Kamaljit Singh Panchhi, President of the Chandigarh Tradersy Association, Sector 17, and Brand Ambassador of the Swachh Bharat Mission (MCC), has appealed to the residents of Chandigarh to join hands with the Municipal Corporation in preserving the city’s reputation as one of the cleanest and most beautiful cities in the country. He urged all citizens to take a firm pledge to strictly follow Municipal Corporation norms.
Panchhi informed residents that the Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh, has decided to introduce four colour-coded dustbins- *Green for wet waste*- *Blue for dry waste*-
*Black for domestic hazardous waste*-
*Red for biomedical & sanitary waste*—to be placed in households for proper waste segregation. To further encourage public participation, the Corporation will also deploy MCC teams to conduct door-to-door visits to educate and guide residents on the correct use of these four-colour dustbins for garbage disposal.
Emphasising collective responsibility, Panchhi urged citizens to follow the simple norms laid down by the MCC. “Every individual effort contributes to a cleaner and healthier Chandigarh and helps us achieve the No. 1 rank in cleanliness,” he said. “No single person can bring about change alone. We must unite as a community, strengthen our commitment, and work together to make Chandigarh a truly garbage-free city,” he added.
