Chandigarh, April 12;- In a significant step towards enhancing public amenities and ensuring safety in green spaces, Sh. Manish Tewari, Member of Parliament, Chandigarh, today inaugurated a newly installed garden lighting project across multiple neighbourhood parks in sector 20 & 30. The inauguration was held in the presence of area Councillor Smt. Taruna Mehta and other prominent residents of the area.

Under the project, a total of 35 garden light poles have been installed across 11 neighbourhood parks, substantially improving visibility and usability during evening hours. Additionally, one major park has been equipped with three high-mast poles of 9 metres height, each fitted with six powerful floodlights to ensure comprehensive illumination.

The project, completed at a cost of ₹13 lakh, reflects a strong commitment to creating safer, more accessible, and citizen-friendly public spaces.

Speaking on the occasion, the Member Parliament highlighted the importance of well-lit parks in promoting community engagement, recreational activities, and overall urban well-being.

Residents expressed appreciation for the initiative, noting that improved lighting will enhance safety and encourage greater use of parks after sunset.
