CHANDIGARH, 18.10.24-The NSS units and Character Building Committee of Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, organised 2-day Diwali Fest that celebrated the spirit of women entrepreneurs. On day one, Guilt Free Sweets and Rangoli Making Competitions were organised. The theme of Rangoli Making Competition was ‘Women Empowerment’. Day two of the fest provided a platform to promote and motivate women entrepreneurs, wherein around 60 stalls were put up in the campus by women entrepreneurs including college students. Chief Guest Prof. Promila Pathak, Department of Botany, Panjab University, Chandigarh, along with Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava inaugurated the mela and applauded the efforts of the organising committee. The stalls put up on this occasion included food, clothing, home decor, jewellery, tarot, art, and fun games. Dandiya and dance performances added to the fun quotient of the event. Stall by Amreen Kaur Brar was awarded the best stall on this occasion.

Principal Dr. Nisha Bhargava expressed appreciation for this thoughtful endeavour that utilised the auspicious occasion of Diwali celebrations to bring spotlight on women entrepreneurship, which is significant not only for promoting self-reliance among women but also promotes economic development of the country. She wished all the stakeholders a joyous Diwali.
