MAHENDERGARH, 25.03.25-The Department of Chemistry, Central University of Haryana (CUH), Mahendergarh has successfully installed a state-of-the-art Powder X-ray Diffraction (XRD) machine in the Central Instrumentation Centre (CIC) laboratory. The advanced facility has been established through the Department of Science and Technology’s (DST) Fund for Improvement of Science and Technology Infrastructure (FIST) grant sanctioned to the Department of Chemistry.

The inaugural ceremony of the newly installed Powder XRD machine was graced by Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of CUH. On this occasion, Prof. Suneel Kumar, Registrar, Prof. Neelam Sangwan, Prof. Sunita Srivastava, and Prof. Harish Kumar, Head of the Department of Chemistry, were also present, along with other Heads of Departments, Teachers-In-Charge (TICs), Ph.D. scholars, and faculty members.
Addressing the gathering, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar, Vice-Chancellor highlighted the significance of this advanced analytical technique in material science research, structural characterization, and the enhancement of interdisciplinary studies. He emphasized that the Powder XRD facility will provide a major boost to ongoing research activities at CUH and facilitate high-end characterization for faculty members, researchers, and students.
Prof. Harish Kumar, Head of the Department of Chemistry, expressed gratitude to the DST-FIST program for supporting the University in strengthening its research infrastructure. He remarked that the installation of the Powder XRD machine would significantly contribute to advanced materials research, nanotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and allied scientific fields.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks, extending appreciation to the University administration, faculty members, and research scholars for their efforts in making this initiative successful. The newly established facility is expected to accelerate the university’s research output and foster collaboration with national and international research institutions.
