Chandigarh, October 30, 2024: Haryana Governor Shri Bandaru Dattatraya extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the people of Haryana and the entire nation on the pious occasion of Diwali. Terming the festival as a celebration of light, joy, and harmony, Shri Dattatraya emphasized the significance of Diwali as a time to spread love, compassion, and unity across all communities.

In his message, Governor Shri Dattatraya said: “Diwali is a symbol of the victory of light over darkness and good over evil. Let us celebrate this joyous occasion by embracing the values of peace, brotherhood, and togetherness. May the light of Diwali guide us towards a prosperous and inclusive future and inspire us to contribute positively to society.”

An international shooter, Sh. Singh has won ‘Finisher’ title in Ironman Triathlon Goa-2024

Chandigarh, October 30- Haryana Governor, Sh. Bandaru Dattatraya on Wednesday honoured Sh. Vishwajeet Singh, a distinguished international shooter and Haryana Civil Services (HCS) officer, for his remarkable achievement in the prestigious Ironman Triathlon Goa-2024.

Sh. Singh, known for his resilience and commitment to excellence, earned the prestigious title of ‘Finisher’ in this global event, making him the first HCS officer in Haryana to accomplish this challenging feat.

Expressing pride in Sh. Singh’s accomplishments and recognizing his commitment to the ‘Fit India’ movement, Governor, Sh.Dattatraya said that the dedication of Sh. Singh setting new standards in endurance sports for public servants across the country is appreciable.

“I wish that many more officers of the state government should excel in different games. They should also inspire others, in particular youths to make sports an integral part of their daily routine. It will help them stay fit and fine,” added Sh. Dattatraya.

It is worth mentioning that the Ironman Triathlon Goa-2024 is widely recognized as India’s most demanding endurance competition, designed as the ultimate test of both physical and mental strength.

The event involves a 1.9-kilometer swim, a 90-kilometer cycling race, and a 21.1-kilometer run. With this achievement, Sh. Singh joins an elite group of athletes who have successfully completed this arduous triathlon, demonstrating the true spirit of endurance and dedication.

Inspired by Prime Minister, Sh.Narendra Modi’s "Fit India" initiative, Sh. Vishwajeet Singh has exemplified the initiative’s call for a healthier, more active nation.

Governor, Sh. Bandaru Dattatraya commended Singh not only for his achievement in Ironman Goa but also for his dedication to promoting fitness, resilience, and discipline among the youth and public of Haryana.

Apart from his recent triathlon success, Sh. Singh holds an impressive athletic record. He is an international medallist in shooting sports and a national medallist in handball. Earlier this year, he also completed the TATA Mumbai Marathon 2024, a gruelling 42-kilometer marathon, securing a successful finisher's medal and solidifying his reputation as an endurance athlete of national standing.

Currently posted as Secretary of Khadi and Village Industries in Haryana, Sh. Vishwajeet Singh’s achievements will inspire countless others to pursue physical fitness and excel in competitive sports.
